Firm Matching
If you enable the Firm Matching option, when users submit a Name record via ACEweb, the system will check the Firm table for a matching Firm.
- If it finds a matching firm*, it will enter the Firm Name into the Firm field and the Firm's ID number into the Firm ID field (not visible from the Names screen), linking the record to the associated firm.
- If it does not find a matching firm, it will enter the firm name into the Firm field, and the Firm ID for the default ACEweb firm. You can use the Web Firm validation option to find these Name records and create firm records for the new firms.
*When the user submits the Personal Data page, the system performs a non-case-sensitive lookup for the firm name in the Firm table. If it finds a match, it links the Name to the Firm record. Otherwise, it links the record to the default ACEweb firm record. This requires the user to enter the firm name as it appears in the Firm record.
For example, if the firm name is ACEware Systems, Inc., the user must enter ACEware Systems, Inc. If they only enter ACEware Systems, ACEware, leave the period off of the Inc., or misspell any of the words, the system will not consider it a match and will not link it to the ACEware Systems, Inc. firm record.
