Using Images on ACEweb Pages

You must follow these rules for displaying images on ACEweb pages or in ACEweb-generated emails:

Image Location

Images must be placed in the ACEweb Images directory on the ACEweb server (e.g. inetpub\wwwroot\wconnect\ace\images).

IMPORTANT: ACEweb has restricted access to the Student Manager folder. It is allowed to access data, however ACEweb CANNOT access images located in your Student Manager folder to display on a web page. Any images you use must be placed in the ACEweb Images directory (see paragraph above).

Image Size

Images must be correctly sized for the specific web page/option. E.g.:

  • If you are using the Graphical Group Listing option, the images you use for your groups will be need to be small and all the same size (we generally suggest not more than 200 pixels in height or width).
  • If you are displaying an image on the individual course information page, you will want to make sure the image is properly sized for the page. For example, if you want to place it to the right of the course details, you may want to keep it relatively small (i.e. under 300 pixels in height and width).

Other Image Use Notes

  • Images will always be displayed in the same location on any generated pages. For example, if you place the coding to show an image on the XCourseStatus.htm template, it will always show the image in the same location for any individual course information page.
  • You may need to add custom coding to an ACEweb template to display an image on it. For example, you must use an alternate template if you want to use the Graphical Group Listing option. Or to display images individual course information pages, you must add the appropriate coding to the XCourseStatus.htm template.
